Dear Friends and Future Friends of the Chorus:

Did you know that in the 9 years, since the founding of the San Diego Festival Chorus, that we have performed over 20 concerts, 10 outreach concerts, featured over 45 major choral works and have conducted 3 international concert tours all to standing ovations!

Our summer 2009 concert tour to Italy included a performance in Saint Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican attended by over 500 worshipers. Also, did you know that we regularly perform to audiences ranging from 800 to over 1000 people, feature well-known vocal soloists and include a fine symphony orchestra in all of our performances? That’s saying a lot for community choral group that includes people who enjoy partaking and making beautiful music together and sharing their talents with the citizens of the San Diego Community.

We recently started a campaign to transport seniors residing in residential and retirement communities to our concerts. This effort was made possible by a grant funded by the La Mesa Rotary Club. Recently, other philanthropic agencies have expressed interest in this project and are lending their support as well. The response has been overwhelming! Many positive comments have come from the seniors and management of these institutions for initiating the project.

We invite you now to join the many people who have enjoyed our performances in attending our Sunday, December 12th 3:00 PM concert. Over 148 performers will entertain you with beautiful music especially selected for the holiday season. Our concert venue will again be the beautiful Sanctuary of the College Avenue Baptist Church. The venue comfortably seats over 1500 hundred people, includes ample facilities, magnificent acoustics and ample parking! Now, where can you enjoy this type of live music experience for less that the price of movie ticket? Why not arrange a holiday party by assembling a group of 10 or more and reduce the price even more!

Heard in performance will be Mozart’s famous Motet, “Exultate jubilate” culminating in the beautiful and familiar “Alleluia”, “A Prayer for Chanukah” – Hoffman (a world premier), Mozart’s “Coronation Mass” and the delightful “Christmas Fantasia” featuring a children’s choir, our own 80 voice chorus and 48 piece symphony orchestra. Please call us for tickets at 619-670-3588. We will arrange for you to pick them up at Will Call the day of the concert, or you can send us your check to 3211 San Carlos Drive, Spring Valley, CA 91978.

Musically yours and best wishes for the holidays!
